EarnIt – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the EarnIt mobile application ("App"), operated by EARNIT APP LTD ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account or using EarnIt, you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility and Age Requirements

EarnIt is designed for students aged 9 years and above.

By using the App, you confirm that:

  • you meet the minimum age requirement; and
  • where required by local law, you have permission from a parent or guardian.

Accounts are student-based. The person who creates or pays for the account is considered the account owner.

We do not collect dates of birth. We may collect school year information solely to tailor educational content.

3. Description of the Service

EarnIt is a productivity and educational support application designed to help users manage app usage through structured learning activities.

Features may include:

  • App blocking and unlocking using Apple Screen Time and Family Controls
  • Educational quizzes
  • Points and reward systems
  • Leaderboards and display names
  • Friend-based rankings
  • Performance tracking and analytics

EarnIt does not guarantee academic improvement or specific outcomes.

4. Device Controls and Permissions

EarnIt integrates with Apple Screen Time and similar platform tools to manage access to apps.

You acknowledge that:

  • App restrictions rely on operating system features outside our control.
  • We cannot guarantee uninterrupted blocking, unlocking, or enforcement.
  • Device behaviour may vary depending on software updates or system limitations.

5. Accounts and Usernames

Users must choose a display name for leaderboard features.

You agree not to use usernames that are:

  • offensive, abusive, or unlawful
  • misleading or impersonating others
  • harmful to minors

We reserve the right to:

  • modify or remove inappropriate usernames
  • suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
  • delete inactive accounts after prolonged inactivity.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

EarnIt offers subscription access via in-app purchases:

  • £7.99 per month
  • £19.99 per year

Billing is handled through Apple App Store (and future Android platforms).

By subscribing, you acknowledge:

  • payments are processed by Apple, not directly by us
  • refunds are governed by Apple's policies
  • subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled via your app store account.

7. Data and Analytics

We collect limited data to operate the service, including:

  • display name
  • school year
  • selected subjects
  • quiz performance and results
  • time spent in activities
  • points earned

Analytics tools such as Supabase and PostHog may be used to improve performance and user experience.

We do not store Apple Screen Time data directly.

8. Educational Content Disclaimer

EarnIt provides productivity tools and educational support.

We do not guarantee:

  • improved exam results
  • academic success
  • behavioural outcomes

All content is provided for general educational purposes only.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • EarnIt is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted operation.
  • We are not responsible for loss of study time, academic performance, or device usage outcomes.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot legally be excluded under UK law.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • attempt to bypass or interfere with app restrictions
  • exploit bugs or vulnerabilities
  • misuse leaderboard features
  • use the App in unlawful ways.

11. Changes to the Service

We may modify, update, or discontinue features at any time.

We may also update these Terms. Continued use of EarnIt constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts where:

  • these Terms are breached
  • misuse or harmful behaviour occurs
  • legal or safety concerns arise.

13. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, design, and software within EarnIt remain the property of EARNIT APP LTD.

You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App without permission.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
